Immigration reform needs our heads not our hearts

Slim Smith and others bemoan the fate of foreign children being separated from their parents at the border. It is terrible, but Congress has kicked this immigration can down the road for far too long. Foreigners have been taking advantage of our kindness, generosity, wishy-washy-ness, for years. They come here with young children hoping that fact will gain them entry. To some the kids are mere pawns. The bottom line is the United States simply cannot continue to admit illegal aliens willy-nilly, and yes, they are aliens here illegally, so they are illegal aliens! A solution must be found, now. I suggest that we start by amending the XIV Amendment. It was never intended to grant citizenship to just anybody born here, only the freed slaves so they could not be denied the rights of citizenship. Stop reacting with our hearts and use our heads. Some of these aliens are good, hard-working people, but too many are not.

Some of these immigrants are fleeing deplorable conditions in their home countries. I have a suggestion there, and I'm sure liberals will have an apoplexy, but it just might work. Viva la revolucion! These people need the ways and means to take back their lands from corrupt government officials and murderous gangs. Train them in the use of lethal force and arm them, then send them home. Let them rid their countries of evil and they'll be much happier. Yes, some will surely die in the process, but the whole world, not just the U.S.A., will be much better off for it.
