So, Obama''s popularity polls are going down. It''s not because his policies are all that bad and many do not like him; it''s because of his race.
It''s the unseen hand of the propaganda wrecking crew at work 24-7-365 doing their job of effective "info" manipulation in our political process. Those who have the gold (money, wealth, and power) -- namely corporate power, high class lobby lawyers, working behind the scenes of our political process. The same power sources are at work, as they were, way back in the day when President Jimmy Carter was made a one-term president.
I have this gut feeling that Obama will also be a one-termer. Not because of his policies to bring a bit of peace to the world by ending two budget-busting wars. He will lose because of the new awesome power of the hidden hand in our political process, namely those who have the gold and the power to manipulate and control the not so liberal press.
The idea of a liberal press is becoming a myth. The same "idea" and process that brought to the world the idea of globalization of the marketplace also brought about the process of the slow death of the so called liberal press by the process of corporate growth in the business process of mergers and acquisitions.
That age-old process and "idea" of a great desire to fulfill the need for greed. And so goes the world in the 21st century. Nothing new under the sun.

Mr. Miller. If the president was an American of Italian descent, or Irish descent or Jewish descent and doing the same things, you don't think the reaction would be the same, or would that hidden hand have a problem with the ethnicity of any president that wasn't lily white? I don't understand what you're trying to say. One the one hand, it sounds as if it's a race thing, but on the other it sounds like it's a policy thing. Or is both?

Well, the dispatch will print something about their idol after all. Some one from munford ala finally sent something they liked. If it's negative about him , it doesn't get printed for some reason. They probably say it's just another red necked opinion with no real proof about what they write. PJ's letter is out to seek a little sympathy for Barry because all his lies and broken promises and the lousy policies of his administration are making people sick with regret for ever supporting him. PJ wants to play the race card --does that really surprise anyone? Just what race do you call him, PJ? What kind of liberal rock have you been hiding under over there in tied country? Don't you know Barry is more white than black and is more arab than anything else? You need to get your head out over there. I think your gut feeling will change to real knowledge if you start getting your info from something other than the "chill up my leg" msnbc, etc., better known as the "lame stream media". When you come out from your rock you will learn that FOX did not exist back when the "goober" man was in office, neither were all the conservative radio talkers. And shame on you PJ for saying our beloved dispatch is becoming a myth!

Obama's popularity is going down because Obama is attacking wealth inequality. When President Obama signed the health care bill, it was the biggest attack on economic inequality since inequality started rising more than three decades ago. Over most of that period, government policy and market forces have been moving in the same direction, both increasing inequality. The pretax incomes of the wealthy have soared since the late 1970s, while their tax rates have fallen more than rates for the middle class and poor.
Nearly every major aspect of the health bill pushes in the other direction. It is his centerpiece of his deliberate effort to end what historians have called the age of Reagan. This bill aims to smooth out one of the roughest edges in American society-the inability of many people to afford medical care after they lose a job or get sick. And it would do so in large measure by taxing the rich. No wonder the Republicans want to repeal it!
The bill will also reduce a different kind of inequality. Insurance is meant to spread the costs of an individual's misfortune-illness,death,fire,flood-across society. Since the late 1970s, the share of Americans with health insurance has shrunk. As a result, the gap between the economic well-being of the sick and healthy has been growing, at every level of the income distribution.
"NO WONDER THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO REPEAL IT!"
gogetum commented at 8/13/2010 5:27:00 PM:
Hope, where did you come up with all that stuff anyhow? You are hopeless if you buy into all that blimp. Your president preached and preached about the obamacare not being a tax until pelosi said it just had to be passed so we can see what's in the bill. (talk about a loony) Then after the bill is jammed down your throat your president is preaching now that it is a tax! That means you are included in the payer group no matter how rich you are . It's not only Repubs who want it off the books--it's the majority of our Country to include Independents and Dems. Wake up Hope!

Another reason President Obamas' popularity is going down. A federal judge in California ordered Wells Fargo & Co. to change what he called "unfair and deceptive business practices" that led customers into paying multiple overdraft fees, and to pay $203 million back to customers. Wells had been engaged in a routine practice across the banking industry whereas it processed debit card transactions by rank of highest dollar amount to lowest dollar amount, rather than in the order in which they occurred. This led to a depletion of funds more quickly, and multiple overdraft fees as a result. The banking industry was forced to change its overdraft practices earlier this year as a result of new regulation. I'm sure that the banks are trying to convince the people through their lobbyists that there is too much government interference by the Obama administration. That capitalism flourishes best under free market conditions.
This fits well with the unseen hand of the propaganda wrecking crew at work24-7-365 doing their job of effective "info" manipulation in our political process, as stated in letter.

Obama's popularity is sinking because the people of the United States are seeing his TRUE colors and I don't mean the color of his skin ! The man is a Socialist with a Socialist agenda. It has nothing to do with COLOR and everything to do with destroying this country and our way of life. I WORK for a living and I REFUSE to give it away to the porch-sitters. The world is not equal, nor is it fair....deal with it. Obama has tried to run his Chicago politics into the White House and finally people are fed up. We don't need hand picked Czars to tell us what to do,and we don't need the president's wife acting like a Queen in Spain when the entire country is in a melt-down!! Throw them OUT like dirty bath water.

"Jimmy Carter was made a one-term president"
Wow, I never knew Jimmy Carter was black! You played the race card and then trumped it yourself two sentences later. I guess George HW Bush and all the other one term Presidents were black too.
You folks need to quit whining and go to work. Try making yourself successful instead of blaming those who are for your troubles.
hope commented at 8/15/2010 9:34:00 AM:
People like kat have been talking about socialism since the days of Lyndon. It ain't here yet. Talk is cheap!
The last melt down we had, Obama was elected to try and correct it."REMEMBER?"

Kat...Most of those porch-sitters were produced by Bush, probably one of his best accomplishments. At least, they didn't have to go to war and die.

Ah Hope -- after GWB explained that he made intel decisions based on the best info avail at the time your beloved democratic leaders did not relent in their assessment and continued using the words "BUSH LIED!"
But you don't like it now that the shoe is on the other foot!
President Obama lied to the Congress and the American public. He should have known the true state of the economy before he promised 8% unemployment. He's the President of the United States! (for the next 2 years anyway)

mscc commented at 8/15/2010 8:23:00 PM:
Just like to point out that the whole cause of this economic crisis was a result of banks giving loans to people that could not afford them. I also recall when democrats, Obama being one of the leaders, were pressuring the banks to give out loans to the unqualified Bush was warning about the possible econ. disaster that this could cause....And Bush got his intelligence for the intelligence agencies, and liberals were right there with him and approved going to war when they read this same intelligence. The way liberals can change history to fit their interest is amazing to me. Obama is one of the biggest liars this country has ever had as a leader. Actually, he might just be one of the biggest liars ever known to man. Yeah no abortions will be covered by gov health care right? Too bad its already mentioned in numerous health care plans already...good job liberals. When will people get that socialism DOES NOT WORK! But who am I to say that..i mean there are tons of people trying to escape to Cuba because it is just so awesome there
mscc commented at 8/15/2010 8:28:00 PM:

mscc commented at 8/15/2010 8:36:00 PM:
And whatever happened to the american dream??? America used to be about working hard to get what you want in life, NOT about the government providing it. Before Reagan my father payed well over half of his income in taxes, explain how it is right for someone to be penalized for working hard for success? He did not come from money, supported himself through college and law school, and busted his butt to get where he is today and im sorry if someone thinks it is wrong for him to be rewarded for his hard work and determination. This liberal way of thinking is what is ruining this country, instead of getting off your lazy asses you would rather sit back and collect a check while the "rich evil white man" works his butt off. You are supposed to work for what you have, and if you havent put the work in for that new car, then well...maybe you shouldnt have it. Sound harsh? well too bad. Im sick of this lazy ass attitude that people have these days, walking around like they are so oppressed...SHUT UP! everyone has the same opportunity to do something with their life. Until you lose this entitled attitude you arent going to get anywhere, well unless Obama gets his way and then he will just give you what he takes from those that earn it. You should be ashamed of yourselves

Barry's comments about his muslim brother having the right to build his victory monument by the trade center location sure didn't help his approval ratings. He's bad as Joe about sicking his foot in his mouth. We are learning more and more about who's side he's on and it's not on the side of our Republic.

Why so angry, mscc? Aren't you happy with your tax cut?
Also: it was Democratic president John F. Kennedy who took the lead in lowering income tax rates. Top marginal rate under the Republican Eisenhower was 90%. Did your daddy tell you about that?

yes sharp nasal and Kennedy would probably not be accepted by most liberals today. I personally dont care what party anyone actually belongs to if they are trying to stay true to americas founding beliefs, it just so happens that most of the people that this mindset applies to just happen to be conservative. I dont dislike every "liberal" that has come around. "My daddy" did however teach me to recognize when i was arguing with a fool though and to just walk away because they will just bring you down to their incompetent level and that you are the only one that has anything to lose (since you were the only one with any sense to begin with). So consider this walking away, I wish you well on your misguided journey.

By founding beliefs would you include freedom to exercise one's religion? Check out the opinion of conservative poster gogetum below.

Speaking of private property, kent. I remember when a family tried to build a large 3 story home in a swankey neighborhood on the north side of your FRIENDLY city and never got to finish it because of liberal objectors. The house is on the market now for a cool million but by someone else , not the family who started it, never been lived in.
