On behalf of United Way of Lowndes County, we would like to say a huge thank you to all the companies and volunteers who made our “Day to Care” possible on Sept. 9. Numerous projects were completed at United Way agencies and in our community, thanks to the following companies that allowed their employees to volunteer their time: Baptist Memorial Hospital, Beersheba Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Belk, Cadence Bank, CECO, Citizens National Bank, City of Columbus, Columbus Air Force Base, Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau, Columbus Police Department, Financial Concepts, Galloway-Chandler-McKinney Insurance, Metso Paper, Mississippi University for Women, Phillips Contracting, Tronox, WCBI, Weyerhaeuser CCF and Weyerhaeuser CMF.
United Way also is very thankful for the generosity of the following sponsors that provided food and other items to feed 200 volunteers at our 2010 Campaign Kickoff luncheon: City of Columbus, Clark Beverage Group, Financial Concepts, Jubilations Inc., Kroger, Newell Paper Company, Party and Paper, PJ”s Barbeque, Sandra Stone, Sunflower, Sysco Food Services of Memphis, and U.S. Food Service.
