Mott Ellis was recently selected to serve on the Mid-South Division Relay For Life Training Team. This group of volunteers provides training to Relay For Life volunteers across the six state division.
Each of the volunteers was selected based on established criteria including: in-depth knowledge of Relay For Life, demonstrated skills in public speaking and group facilitation, a desire and enthusiasm to move the Mid-South Division”s Relay For Life program to higher levels of success through leadership training of volunteers, and a commitment to the American Cancer Society”s mission to eliminate cancer.
“These volunteers represent the best of the best in Relay For Life volunteer leadership,” said Grant Vosburgh, volunteer chair, Mid-South Division Training Team. “The leadership they exhibit while training others helps the American Cancer Society move ever closer to accomplishing its mission,” he added.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society”s signature fundraising event. Each year, more than 3.5 million people participate in Relay For Life in 5,000 communities across the United States.
The Lowndes County Relay for Life event at Magnolia Bowl (Saunders Field) on Highway 45 North in Columbus will kick off Friday, April 29, at 6 p.m. and extend until 6 a.m. the following morning. For more information, contact Ellis at [email protected].
