I am the proud owner of an 1890 Victorian home that I personally restored. It is known as the T. O. Burris home (Painted Lady) and was the Ford Boarding house and restaurant for many years. When I purchased the home 10 years ago, it was in terrible disrepair and had been standing empty for years. It was uninhabitable but I was able to see the hidden beauty of the home.
If someone is willing to purchase the Friendship House and restore it back to it''s glory then It would be a sin to not make it available to this buyer. Columbus has already lost too many of these historic homes to fires, neglect, and commercialism. I am pleading to First Baptist Church not to demolish this beautiful old home but to let someone resurrect it.
