Best-selling garden book author Bobby J. Ward will be speaking at Mississippi State University on Nov. 4.
Ward will speak at Tully Auditorium in Thompson Hall on MSU’s campus in Starkville from 10 until 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Ward will present information about contemporary plant collectors around the world and the unique finds they have contributed to the horticulture trade.
“This is a good opportunity for gardening enthusiasts to learn more about the plants they love, where they originated, and the journey the plants took to get to their gardens,” said Brian Templeton, an Extension associate with MSU’s Department of Landscape Architecture.
Ward, of Raleigh, N.C., has had extensive training in botany and plant physiology. His world travels and interest in gardening are evident in the five books and numerous articles he has written.
