Library invites community to decorate trees

The Columbus-Lowndes Public Library System invites clubs, businesses, organizations and individuals to decorate a tree for the Columbus Library Annual Festival of Trees. The trees will be seen by hundreds of library visitors during the month of December.

The 2011 theme is "The Polar Express," based on the book and movie, "The Polar Express" by Chris Van Allburg.

From the traditional to the unique, decorators can let their creativity soar by decorating one of these artificial trees. There are a limited number of trees available; the library requests reservations early. Trees must be completely decorated by 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Organizations, clubs, businesses, and individuals may want to consider the smaller option of decorating a wreath to be used for decorating the doors within the library. Donated wreaths must be brought to the Columbus Library at 314 Seventh St. N. by 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Contact Anisha Nash at 662-329-5300 to reserve a tree and receive a copy of the designer guidelines.
