MERIDIAN — Julius Wesley Kiker, of Lucedale, has been convicted for a second time in the shooting death of his wife, Renee Kiker, at their Lucedale home on March 6, 2002.
The Mississippi Press reports it took a jury of eight men and four women about two hours Friday to reach the decision in the case that was relocated to Meridian.
Kiker was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Kiker was first convicted in 2005 and sentence to life in prison. That conviction was remanded by the state Supreme Court on July 22, 2008. Kiker was released from prison shortly after his convicted was overturned.
The case was moved from George County courts to ensure Kiker received a fair trial.
