STARKVILLE — Sunday might be Father”s Day, but Saturday will be all about the women at Mississippi State.
Mississippi State will play host to the Ladies Football Clinic, which will provide a wealth of information about football.
Megan Mullen, the wife of Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen, believes the women who will participate will enjoy the experience.
“I think it”s one of the coolest things in the world and it is Dan”s favorite day of camp because it is so much fun,” Megan said. “I don”t know what it”s going to be like compared to what it was the last couple of years, but the way we”ve done it in the past is just crazy.”
The camp is designed to teach women the same techniques and strategies Mullen and his staff use with the Bulldogs.
Coach Mullen said women “will be the envy of all the ladies who didn”t attend and the men who were not allowed to attend.”
There will be a question and answer session with Megan and the wives of the MSU”s other coaches.
“It”s an absolute blast,” Megan said. “The women could ask anything they want and they are going to learn more about football than they ever have. There will be some funny stories, too.”
Megan said the clinic is for women of all ages. She wants older women to understand they don”t have to put on pads and run drills in the 100-degree heat.
Women will have the opportunity to try on the gear, to tour the facilities, and to learn about the spread office. Coach Mullen also will teach how them to throw a football correctly
The registration fee is $75, which includes snacks, lunch, and an adidas shirt.
Registration will be held Saturday. Megan said 150 have already committed to the event. She hopes to double that Saturday.
