STARKVILLE -- The Starkville School District will launch its new student information system on Monday and will hold orientation sessions at each campus throughout the week.
The new system, InformationNOW (INOW), will allow parents and guardians of students in the district to access pertinent information, including grades, homework, discipline reports and attendance.
Assistant Superintendent Toriano Holloway said each orientation session will begin at 5 p.m. and will take place in computer labs on the campuses.
"We plan to hand out a brochure that walks them through how to access all of the data that is available," Holloway said. "We will do these sessions in computer labs, we will have computer technicians on hand to assist them, just kind of walk them through it."
Sessions will last until 7 p.m., and parents are invited to come at the most convenient time within those two hours. The orientation process will take about 15 minutes.
Holloway said parents should report to the main office of their student's school, where login information and directions to the computer lab will be available.
Parents who are unable to attend the session will not be able to pick up their child's login information until Friday.
INOW is web-based, and is fully backed up every night.
