Two new swine flu cases reported in Oktibbeha

STARKVILLE -- Two new cases of the H1N1 virus were reported Tuesday in Oktibbeha County, which brings the total to three after another was reported June 26. 

 


A Mississippi Depart-ment of Health representative, who asked not to be quoted, said all three cases of the so-called "swine flu" virus have been found in "young adult females." She did not know the ages of the females, nor did she have any more details. 

 


The Mississippi Department of Health says the state''s total number of swine flu cases is 152. There are no deaths. 

 


Winston County had the most new cases with nine confirmed. There were six new cases in Lamar, four each in Forrest and Jackson, two each in Webster, Tishomingo, Lee, Greene, George and Harrison counties. And, Attala, Chickasaw, Hinds, Lafayette, Lincoln, Marion, Panola, Perry, Rankin, Smith and Warren counties each had one new case.
