A routine traffic stop lead to the discovery of a meth lab and the arrest of two women over the weekend.
Anna Marie Forrester, 23, and Tina Waldrop, 29, were arrested on Saturday and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine after a “shake and bake” lab was discovered in their vehicle.
Officers with the Columbus Police Department stopped the vehicle at the corner of Warpath Road and Lehmberg Road for failure to stop at a stop sign.
When officers discovered the lab, they called agents with the Columbus-Lowndes Metro Narcotics Unit. Agents processed the lab and also found precursors and various drug paraphernalia inside the car.
Forrester and Waldrop are in the custody of the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting bond.
