A Columbus man has been arrested and charged in connection with an early morning shooting on New Year's Day that injured three people with gunshot wounds.

Davin Lamar Montgomery, 20, of Columbus was arrested by investigators with the Columbus Police Department at a home on Pandora Drive on Thursday afternoon. He was charged with aggravated assault.

Police are still looking for Lemarcus Damon Smith, 25, for his suspected role in the shooting. Smith is wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

The shooting occurred at 1:39 a.m. in the parking lot of Sprint Mart convenience store located on the corner of Highway 69 and Yorkville Road. The store's security camera captured the incident on video.

The video showed a group of men arguing in the parking lot before the argument turned physical. The video showed a black male in a blue hoodie being handed a gun. The man then fired into the crowd, wounding three people.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
