Dear Commercial Dispatch Readers,
Recently, some of you might have received a letter from our circulation department. The correspondence was a result of a misunderstanding on our part about The Commercial Dispatch''s plans to expand into the Starkville market. It is understandable that it raised concerns from our colleagues at The Dispatch, for whom we have the utmost professional respect.
I want to make it clear that the letter sent from our circulation department completely mischaracterized The Commercial Dispatch''s distribution plans. I have spoken to Birney Imes about the misunderstanding and found him to be very cordial and understanding.
Mississippi newspapers are a tight fraternity. We are all members of the Mississippi Press Association, which affords us the opportunity to personally get to know one another. The Commercial Dispatch is an excellent newspaper, and we have nothing but respect for Mr. Imes and the work he and The Dispatch team do in serving your community.
Further, we urge readers and advertisers in your town to support The Commercial Dispatch so that the paper can continue its mission of upholding the First Amendment and serving your community.
