The Columbus-Lowndes County League of Voters will host a political forum for candidates seeking office in the Columbus municipal elections.
The forum is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Columbus Municipal Complex. All candidates seeking office in the May 7 primaries and the June 7 general election have been invited.
The mayoral candidates session will begin the forum, followed by candidates for city council. The League of Voters established the format for the forum. However, questions will be determined by the moderators, who are not members of the organization.
“I am enthused about the election and hope the forum will provide citizens the opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their views on the issues affecting the city of Columbus,” said Danny Cunningham, League of Voters chapter president .
