ABERDEEN -- Police Chief Henry Randle is asking owners of Aberdeen businesses to help the department by considering security systems, after five burglaries in one week.

Randle told The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that the security camera at Big Star Grocery got video of the person who broke into Reflections Salon, Kimmel's Bakery and Lana B's Consignment last week.

He says Big Star owners Jeff and Susan Doty curbed break-ins at their grocery by installing the system, and other store owners could do the same.

The other break-ins were at Harvey's B-B-Q and Shelaine Restaurant. Randle said an air conditioner was pushed into Harvey's and a fan was bent back to get into Shelaine.

Randle said he has beefed up both foot and car patrols to check on businesses.
