Five people are in custody and charged with armed robbery after they allegedly robbed a residence on Bluecutt Road in Oktibbeha County.
Deundre Goss, 23, and Tavon Datsun, 17, both of Starkville, were arrested and charged with on one count of armed robbery, one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, one count of possession of a stolen firearm, and one count of burglary of a residence.
Deondra Evans, 24, Dinndra Gay, 18 both of Starkville, and Latrese Kennedy, 18, of Chicago, were arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and one count of burglary of a residence.
The five allegedly broke into a residence on Bluecutt Road located near the Sunset Subdivision off of Highway 12 just after 1 a.m. Wednesday where they took an undetermined amount of cash from the home-owner. Three of the suspects were armed, according to the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department. The victim was not injured.
After the suspects left the scene, the victim ran to a neighboring home and called E-911. Deputies with the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department responded at 1:04 a.m. All five suspects were in custody by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators with the sheriff’s department executed multiple search warrants on homes and a vehicle belonging to the suspects and recovered evidence that they believe to be relevant in the investigation of the crime including clothing, firearms, cash and a small amount of narcotics.
All five are currently in the custody of the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department.
Goss and Datsun each received a $100,000 bond, Kennedy received a $75,000 bond and Evans and Gay received a $30,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing. More charges are expected and additional arrests are possible.
