Ten-year-old Audrey Foreman of Columbus was named a third runner-up July 21 in the 2013 Pre-Teen Mississippi competition, senior division. The scholarship and recognition program was held July 20-21 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Tupelo. Mississippi’s “best and brightest honor roll students” aged 7-12 competed for more than $5,000 in educational bonds, prizes and awards in seven categories: academic achievement, volunteer service to community, school honors and activities, development of personal skills and abilities, general knowledgeability, communicative ability, on-stage acknowledgment of accomplishments.
Foreman, a fifth-grader at Immanuel Christian School, is the daughter of Steve and Bonny Foreman of Columbus.
