A Columbus drug roundup put 13 people behind bars Friday with police still searching for 36 more.
Chief of Police Selvain McQueen said the roundup, titled “Operation Three Choices,” went well.
“It was part of an initiative to make Columbus a better place to live, to work, to visit and to play,” McQueen said. The Columbus Police Department executed the raid in which 84 warrants were issued for 49 people for the sale of narcotics.
The operation was named “Three Choices” because the alleged offenders were offered three choices by the police department, McQueen said.
“These people are committing crimes,” the chief said. “They had three choices: Stop selling dope and committing crimes, move to another district or go to jail. We’re not tolerating anything less than that.”
