MACON -- A local man and his wife were pronounced dead Friday afternoon after an apparent murder-suicide at their home on Walnut Street.
Henry Weston and his wife, Judy, were found dead shortly before 2 p.m. after authorities responded to their residence to investigate reports of gunshots.
"From the autopsy reports and what my office''s investigation can determine, Henry Weston shot his son multiple times, shot his wife in the face and then shot himself in the head," said Noxubee County Coroner R.L. Calhoun. "It appeared the shots were fired during a domestic disturbance."
The couple''s son, Henry Weston Jr., was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle to be treated for three gunshot wounds. As of Saturday afternoon, he remained in the hospital, though Calhoun predicted he likely would make a full recovery.
"All I can say right now is that there are two deceased and one injured," said Macon Police Chief Petey Freshour. "The case remains under investigation."
Though police are still investigating the incident, Calhoun was unsure if any criminal charges would be brought.
"The investigation is under the authority of the Macon Police Department, and I certainly can''t speak for them right now," said Calhoun. "Just based on the coroner office''s investigation, it seems Mr. Weston was the gunman."
