Oktibbeha County sheriff’s deputies arrested Dana Jones Roberson, 54, of Starkville, after he allegedly caused a head-on, multi-car collision Saturday that resulted in numerous injuries.
Roberson was charged with four counts of aggravated DUI, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and careless driving. He remains in Oktibbeha County Jail awaiting arraignment, an Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department release states.
Emergency responders were called to a three-car accident about 8 p.m. Saturday on 16th Section Road that injured at least eight individuals. The injured, including four juveniles, were transferred to area hospitals and treated.
A brown Toyota Tundra traveling northbound at a high rate of speed collided head-on with another vehicle, the release states, and then struck the rear of a third vehicle. Roberson, the driver of the Toyota, was located by deputies a short distance from the scene.
The wreck investigation continues, the release states, and more charges are possible.
