YAZOO CITY — Police in Yazoo City say a 9-year-old girl has been missing since Sunday evening, when she was last seen playing in flood waters outside the back door of her home.
WLBT TV in Jackson reports the girl was last seen around 7 p.m. she is believed to have jumped into flood waters outside the back door of her parent’s house.
A search was called off at midnight but was to resume this morning.
Severe weather raked Mississippi over the weekend. There were reports of street flooding Sunday in Jackson and reports of wind damage today around Covington. Much of Mississippi remained under flood advisories today. And a tornado watch was in effect early this morning from southeast Louisiana, across south Mississippi and into south and central Alabama.
