A man was stabbed at a Columbus motel Monday night but is refusing to press charges against his attacker.
Officers with the Columbus Police Department responded to the Budget Inn at 2400 Main Street shortly after 8 p.m. for reports of a man with a stab wound. When officers arrived they discovered a white male bleeding from his side. EMTs with Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle’s ambulance service responded to the scene, but the victim refused treatment. He held a blood-soaked cloth but told responders he would drive himself to the hospital.
According to CPD spokesperson Latasha Key, the victim did not want to press charges against his attacker. However, Interim Chief Tony Carleton said the incident is still under investigation and charges may yet be filed.
