The Golden Triangle Writers Guild will meet Saturday, July 12, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bryan Public Library in West Point. Meetings are open to published and non-published writers of all genres. The local chapter will meet the second Saturday of each month to network with other writers and share writing experiences, tips, ideas, readings, open mic sessions and critique groups.
The Mississippi Writers Guild was established in 2005 to fulfill the need for a statewide writers’ organization in Mississippi. By focusing on the skills, the craft and the art of language and communication, the Mississippi Writers Guild promotes literary diversity. The organization is committed to strengthening cultural awareness and literacy through education, information, support, opportunity and recognition for all writers. Their motto is: No writer without a voice.
The Mississippi Writers Guild sponsors book festivals, writer retreats, workshops and conferences. The MWG has successfully promoted literary arts in Mississippi through Literary Artists on Stage, People’s Choice Awards, and the Historic Mississippi Writers Honor. The literary arts arena is expanding to Literary Kids on Stage, Senior Citizen Memoir Writing and journaling with special groups. MWG sponsors annual writing competition, programs and events that encourage and reward new writers.
