A Lowndes County jury has found a Columbus man guilty of two counts of aggravated assault stemming from a 2012 shooting that left one man blind and another injured.
Joel Dudley Jones, 23, of 413 Springdale Dr., was found guilty Friday in Lowndes County Circuit Court. He was found not guilty of intimidating a witness.
The charges stemmed from a June 2012 shotgun shooting on Ash Street. Two men, Tamarcus Thomas and Zachariah Johnson, were injured in the incident. Johnson suffered multiple gunshot wounds and is blind as a result.
Jones, who is represented by William Starks, will be sentenced Monday by Judge Jim Kitchens. He faces up to 40 years in prison.
