AMORY — The Amory High School football team scored all of its points in the second half Friday night and rallied to beat Louisville 19-14 in a Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 4A, Region 4 game on Friday.
Amory (3-8, 3-2 region) rallied in the second half after trailing 14-0 at halftime.
Joreel Freeman scored the winning touchdown on a 5-yard run with 2 minutes, 40 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Panthers pulled within 14-13 in the third quarter on a 70-yard kickoff return by Frank Carter and 20-yard pass from Forest Williams to Josh Andress.
n Clarksdale Lee Academy 7, Heritage Academy 0: At Clarksdale, the Patriots (3-8) ended the season Friday with their eighth loss in a row.
The game was scoreless until Lee Academy (4-7) scored in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Welby Wu and an extra point by Trent Williams.
n New Site 14, Immanuel 8: At Booneville, Michael Tate rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown Friday, but it wasn”t enough as the Rams (1-9) lost their final game of the season.
Immanuel moved inside the red zone (20-yard line) five times but scored only once. It committed 12 penalties for 210 yards.
Tate also had a fumble recovery and tied for the team lead with five tackles.
Chase Boulware, James Wriley, and Josh Dantzler also had five tackles, while Jeremy Davidson had four.
n Central Academy 54, Kemper Academy 0: At Macon, Trevor Eaves rushed for 318 yards and five touchdowns Friday to lead the Vikings in their regular-season finale.
Eaves scored on a 7-yard run in the first quarter, on a 35-yard run in the second quarter, on runs of 21 and 22 yards in the third quarter, and on a 56-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Eaves also scored on two two-point conversion runs.
Also for the Vikings, Will Disbrow scored on a 26-yard run in the first quarter, and Ferris McGuire scored on a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter.
McGuire also scored on a two-point conversion and Cole Newman scored three two-point conversions.
McGuire rushed for 98 yards and Disbrow rushed for 40.
Eaves also led the Vikings with 15 tackles. Disbrow had 11 tackles, Cody Brown had 10, Will Sciple had nine, and Newman had eight.
A coin flip Monday will decide Central Academy”s playoff fate. The Vikings are in a three-way tie for first place with Calvary and Veritas and coin flips will decide which teams will make the playoffs.
n South Panola 51, Starkville 7: At Batesville, the Yellow Jackets allowed 50 points in a game against South Panola for the second year in a row to suffer a Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 6A, Region 1 loss Friday.
Starkville lost 56-22 to South Panola last season.
Starkville (3-7, 3-3 region) lost its third game in a row after starting 3-0 in region play.
The Yellow Jackets scored in the fourth quarter on a 35-yard run by Kakendic Barlow.
Starkville outside linebacker D.J. Jordan played sparingly because of a groin injury, and middle linebacker Craig Armstead was cleared to play after suffering a neck injury.
n Pillow Academy 33, Starkville Academy 14: At Starkville, the Volunteers gave up 33 points in a game for the third week in a row to end the season 0-11.
Ben Thebaud scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter and Ryan McKell scored on a 5-yard run in the third for Starkville Academy.
n Nanih Waiya 40, East Oktibbeha 0: At Crawford, the Titans were shut out of the second time this season in losing a Mississippi High School Activities Association Class A, Region 3 game Saturday.
James Finley rushed for 76 yards and Lexie Edwards rushed for 41 for East Oktibbeha (4-6, 3-5 region). Chris Hunter completed three passes for 83 yards.
Arthur Gillespie and Darico Dancer led the Titans with nine tackles each, and Bracey Johnson and Terence Rice each had seven tackles.
n South Leake 8, West Oktibbeha 0: At Walnut Grove, the Wolverines suffered their third shutout of the season in their Mississippi High School Activities Association Class A, Region 3 game.
It was the second loss in three games for West Oktibbeha (5-5, 5-3 region).
West Oktibbeha will plays host to French Camp at 7 p.m. Friday in its regular-season finale.
n Winona Christian 20, Hebron Christian 6: At Winona, the Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention on the final game of the regular season.
Hebron Christian (4-6) scored in the first quarter on an 8-yard pass from Yance Falkner to Blake Harrell.
n Tuscaloosa Academy 37, Pickens Academy 28: At Tuscaloosa, Ala., the Pirates had a four-game winning streak snapped as they lost their regular-season finale.
Pickens Academy (6-4) scored in the first quarter on a 10-yard pass from Jacob Acker to Michael Potts, in the second quarter on a 5-yard run by Casey Jones, in the third quarter on a 47-yard interception return by Judson Smith, and in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard run by Chase Davidson.
Pickens Academy had 180 yards rushing, led by Jones with 62 yards.
Kirk Lewis rushed for 57 yards, passed for 19 yards and had 13 yards receiving.
Acker completed 5 of 7 passes for 48 yards.
Pickens Academy will play at Edgewood Academy on Friday in the opening round of the Alabama Independent School Association Class 2A state playoffs.
n Linden 40, Aliceville 0: At Linden, Ala., the Yellow Jackets suffered their worst defeat of the season on Thursday.
Aliceville (5-5) lost its third game in a row and was shut out for the third time this season.
Kendarius Fritts rushed for 173 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Linden (10-0). He scored on runs of 15, 5, and 18 yards.
Aliceville will play at Trinity Presbyterian on Friday in the first round of the Alabama High School Activities Association Class 3A state playoffs.
n Sulligent 52, South Lamar 14: At Millport, Ala., the Stallions suffered their seventh loss in a row to end the season.
Malcolm Willingham scored on a 35-yard run in the third quarter and Brad McCool threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to DeShawn Davis in the fourth quarter for South Lamar (1-9).
Willingham accounted for 58 of South Lamar”s 99 yards rushing.
McCool completed three passes for 67 yards.
Justin Sanford led South Lamar with seven tackles.
