Southern music fans will hear familiar accents singing country and rock songs at this year’s Bulldog Bash.
Country music artist Justin Moore will headline the free outdoor concert on Oct. 3, the Friday before Mississippi State University’s Southeastern Conference game against Texas A&M University.
Drake White, another country performer, and Southern rock band the Dirty Guv’nahs will also perform at the MSU Student Association event.
Moore, known for singles “Small Town USA” and “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away,” was recognized as 2014’s Best New Artist at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards. Two of his three Valory Music Group-released albums — his 2009 eponymous release and 2011’s “Outlaws Like Me” — both were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America and sold more than 500,000 copies.
White released his debut single “Simple Life” in 2013, and the song reached No. 36 in U.S. country music charts.
After developing a live following with multiple shows at Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, the Dirty Guv’nahs released their fourth studio album in March.
Proceeds from this year’s Bulldog Bash will benefit the Columbus-based Palmer Home for Children.
