DISPATCH STAFF REPORT 

 


The following incidents were reported by the Columbus Police Department. 

 


Officers responded to a call at the 2400 block of 23rd Ave. N in Columbus on Nov. 15 regarding shots being fired. It was reported to officers that a black male got out of a dark colored vehicle and fired several shots down the street. 

 


No one was injured in the incident. Criminal Investigations was notified and has taken over the investigation. 

 


n An officer responded to a call at Accessory Corner at 1420 Old Aberdeen Road in Leigh Mall on Nov. 10 in reference to shoplifting. According to the report, a black male asked a salesperson if he could see a necklace from behind the glass display.  

 


The salesperson handed the necklace to the male subject and he ran out of the store with the necklace, which had a value of approximately $850. Criminal Investigations was notified and has taken over the investigation. 

 


n An officer was sent to the 400 block of Tuscaloosa Road in Columbus in reference to burglary of a home on Nov. 10. 

 


On arriving, the officer discovered entry was gained by kicking in the carport door. Two televisions, a Toshiba laptop, Playstation 3, a digital camera and four PS3 games were reported missing from the home. Criminal investigations was notified and has taken over the investigation. 

 


n Officers responded to a call at J&J Tobacco at 910 Tuscaloosa Road in Columbus in reference to burglary of a business. On arriving, officers discovered entry into the business was gained by pulling away the tin outside the business and removing several layers of insulation and knocking a hole in the sheet rock into the office. An undisclosed amount of cash was reported missing from the office. Criminal Investigations was notified and has taken over the investigation.
