WINONA -- The Immanuel Christian girls basketball team made school history Thursday night.
The Lady Rams earned a berth in the championship game of the MAIS Class A, District 3 Tournament for the first time by upsetting No. 1-seed Kemper Academy 55-53 in overtime.
Immanuel (17-11) outscored Kemper Academy 7-5 in overtime to claim the victory.
The Lady Rams will play Hebron Christian in the championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Immanuel was led by Taylor Baudoin with 20 points, 26 rebounds and five steals, and Bailey Edwards with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
n Immanuel Christian 54, Kemper Academy 38 (B): At Winona, the Rams also earned a berth in the championship game of the district tournament by beating Kemper Academy.
Immanuel will play Winona Christian in the championship game at 8 p.m. Saturday.
The Rams were led by Ross Moore with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Justin James with 15 points and nine rebounds, Wade Lee with 11 points and 10 rebounds and A.J. Johnston with nine points and five assists.
n Hebron Christian 40, Central Academy 36 (G): At Winona, the Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Vikings 15-9 in the fourth quarter to rally for the victory.
Hebron trailed 27-25 going into the final quarter.
Laura Beth Moore scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Lady Eagles.
Central Academy was led by Blake Rigdon with 10 points, Lillian Lindsey with nine and Corey Dawkins with eight.
n Pickens Academy 56, Lowndes Academy 47 (B): At Marion, Ala., Jacob Acker poured in a game-high 25 points to lead the Pirates past Lowndes Academy in the AISA Class AA, District 2 Tournament.
Michael Potts scored eight points for Pickens Academy (16-9).
The Pirates advance to play Meadowview Christian at 12:30 p.m. today.
n Pickens County 60, Isabella 27 (G): At Tuscaloosa, Ala., the Lady Tornadoes scored their most points in a game this season en route to beating Isabella in the AHSAA Class 3A, District 7 Tournament.
Pickens County (14-6) will play American Christian in the championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Lady Tornadoes were led by Maryauna Sterling with 25 points and seven steals, Kevauna Sterling with 14 points and seven steals and Kelsey Stewart with 10 points.
Pickens County''s leading scorer, Miriah Gooden, sprained her ankle and played sparingly.
