The annual spring Friends of the Library Book Sale will be held at Leigh Mall in Columbus Friday, March 26, from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday, March 27, from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Many volunteers are needed to help with loading books at the library and unloading at Leigh Mall, unpacking books and placing them on designated tables. This process will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library, 314 Seventh St. N.
Other volunteers will be needed during the sale to assist book buyers and to keep book tables straightened. At the end of the sale, a fresh group of volunteers will be needed to repack and reload books.
Volunteers are asked to schedule the time they can help by contacting Doug Blount at 662-329-2904, or Frances Johnson at 662-328-1986.
Proceeds from the book sales are used to benefit the library by providing equipment, supplies and other services not covered by the funding the library receives from the city and county.
