A local business was the target of a burglary, Monday.
A woman reported to police she heard a loud noise Monday at Brothers Food Mart, which is across the street from her residence, at 1801 Seventh Ave. N. She stated she saw two male youths wearing all black break into the store''s front window near the cash register. She later saw them running out the window east on Seventh Avenue North, the woman reported.
After being notified of the break-in, the owner of the business, Nagi Mutee, reported to police a cash register was missing.
The following incidents also were reported to the Columbus Police Department:
--Marie Wiley, of Columbus, Monday reported an attempted burglary at her residence on Ninth Avenue South, when she noticed her back door had been kicked in, police responded at 10:55 p.m.; nothing was reported missing.
--Otisha Mixon Friday reported to police someone took her white 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Mixon called police at 6:09 p.m. Mixon parked her car at a home on Vance Street while she entered the residence for a few minutes, she reported. When she returned, the car was gone. The car''s engine was running and the doors were unlocked, Mixon told police.
--Linda O''Neal Petty Saturday reported someone took a black UNK generator from her back porch. She noticed it missing at 4:45 p.m. and notified police at 5 p.m.
--Ricky Boone Monday reported to police an attempted burglary at 21st Street North. Upon returning home from work around midnight, Boone discovered someone had pushed an air conditioner into his bedroom, he reported. Boone did not find anything missing or disturbed at the time he filed the police report.
