The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of George Happy Irby Memorial Parkway and U.S. Highway 45 North, near the primary entrance to Columbus Air Force Base.
According to Trooper Brian Mobley, public affairs officer for Troop G of the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, the accident happened sometime after 7 a.m.
A 1987 black Isuzu truck driven by Clifton Holley, 45, of Aberdeen traveling south collided with an eastbound vehicle, a 2006 white Toyota Sienna, driven by Meagan Brown, 24, of Columbus.
“A 22-month-old child was also in the Toyota. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts, and the child was in a safety seat.” Mobley said.
Mobley said the front of Holley”s truck struck the left side of Brown”s vehicle.
Holley was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, and Brown and the child were taken to BMH-GT by private vehicle.

According to LCSD Deputy Steve Hatcher, a motorist was traveling north on Highway 45 when she saw a fire truck at the scene, Hatcher said.
