Samurai Sushi and Steakhouse, formerly Little Tokyo, was recently purchased by Shane Cruse, the owner of All-New Cattleman’s Steak, Fish and Seafood.
Cruse took over the restaurant last Tuesday and has since been revitalizing the establishment with a fully renovated kitchen, professionally-cleaned dining area and upcoming menu additions.
“If you weren’t pleased on a recent visit, I’d invite you back to give us a second try,” Cruse said regarding the renovations.
Cruse will maintain the menu of “best sushi” and hibachi that Samurai is known for and will add his own selection of steakhouse favorites including char-grilled ribeye, New York strips, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes and a full salad bar.
The newly named 45 Steakhouse and Sushi is located at 1920 Hwy. 45 N. and is open 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for lunch and 4:30-9:30 p.m. for dinner Tuesday-Saturday and noon-9 p.m. Sundays.
Also on Highway 45, Krispy Kreme will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Krispy Kreme’s arrival in Mississippi on Oct. 21.
In 1967, the Dorgan family moved to Mississippi and opened the first Krispy Kreme shop in the state in Biloxi on the beach. On Oct. 21, the Columbus location will celebrate with a free birthday party for the family from 9 a.m.-noon, with activities and specials.
Last week the Dispatch announced the opening of Double H Gun Club, albeit without any contact information for the business. The club is located at 1057 Hwy. 182 W. Inquiries can be made at 662-549-7454.
Vinyl records are in high-demand of late and Starkville-based Scooter’s Records is looking to fill at least a portion of the public desire for vinyl.
Scooter’s Records has operated a booth at various public functions such as Bulldog Bash and Sunday Funday with aims to open a permanent location. With the recent purchase of the former Rain or Shine tanning salon building, located at 519 University Dr., owner Scott Thomas is drawing ever closer to his dream.
Finally, West Point is gaining a Japanese steakhouse.
The former Pizza Hut building at 800 Hwy. 45 Alt. N. has been sold to Eric Lin. Lin is working to convert the former pizza restaurant into Yamato Japanese Steakhouse. The owner plans to have the restaurant open by the end of November.
