A child hit by a car in north Columbus yesterday is expected to recover.
The nine-year-old boy was outside near the 1900 block of 14th Avenue North when he apparently accidentally stepped in front of a vehicle, according to Columbus Police Department Assistant Chief Fred Shelton. The accident happened about 3 p.m.
Shelton said the child had some broken bones but that his injuries are non-life threatening. He also said the driver is not facing charges.
