University of Mississippi senior Katelyn McCoy and junior Jacqueline McGrath, both of Columbus, are among more than 270 students recently inducted into the UM chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. It is the nation’s oldest and largest honor society for all academic disciplines.
After graduation in December with a degree in paralegal studies, McCoy plans to attend law school. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, Rho Lambda, Lambda Chi Epsilon and Panhellenic Honor Societies. She has made the Chancellor’s Honor Roll or Dean’s List every semester.
McCoy is the daughter of Michael and Kathy McCoy of Columbus.
McGrath, upon graduation in May 2019 with a degree in biology, plans to attend dental school. She is a member and senator of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors and secretary for Rebel Companions service club.
She is the daughter of Robert Marcellus McGrath Jr. and Patricia Ann Rothstein McGrath.
Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is based on sound character and academic standing. Juniors must rank in the top 7.5 percent of their class. Seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10 percent of their class.
