Police arrested a Starkville man Wednesday morning for a year’s worth of indecent exposure in the University Drive area.
Starkville police arrested James Harmon Duke, 22, on suspicion of seven counts of misdemeanor indecent exposure that span from February 2017 to this month.
Police started receiving reports of a naked individual in the area around University Drive in February 2017. The sightings stopped once an investigation into the matter began, according to an SPD press release.
However, in the weeks leading up to Duke’s arrest, SPD started getting more calls about a naked person in the same area. The person, according to complaints, was typically spotted between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Starkville police, dressed as joggers, arrested Duke at about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady. He’s out on $3,500 total bond.
Duke is scheduled to appear in municipal court on March 19.
