Registration is open for the 34th-annual Frostbite Half-Marathon, 10-Kilometer, and 5-K races at 9 a.m. Feb. 2, 2019.
Online registration for the event, which is presented by Chick-fil-A Starkville, is open at the event’s website at http://www.frostbitehalf.com.
The registration fees for the half-marathon, 10-K, and 5-K races are $45, $30, and $20 respectively, but those fees will increase the longer runners wait to register.
As with the 2016, 2017 and 2018 races, the half-marathon will run a course that begins and ends in downtown Starkville. It will weave its way through the city’s historic district, the Cotton District and the Mississippi State campus. The course is certified at 13.1 miles.
The 10-K and 5-K races are held so intermediate/novice runners and families can participate. Course maps for all races are on the Frostbite website.
For the second-consecutive year, the annual Souper Bowl — an event where several restaurants come together for a soup tasting competition for charity — will be held in downtown Starkville immediately following the Frostbite races.
As with previous Frostbite events, a portion of the proceeds from the 2019 races will go to charitable cause. The 2019 races will benefit the United Way of North Central Mississippi.
