Kelsey Wade of Caledonia is one of four Itawamba Community College students and among 207 Phi Theta Kappa members named 2018 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
At ICC, Wade is a member of the Baptist Student Union. She attends New Salem Baptist Church.
After ICC, Wade plans to transfer to Mississippi State University where she will pursue a master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics and become a registered dietician.
The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship program helps new Phi Theta Kappa members defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in Society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service and leadership potential. More than 1,200 applications were received.
