A Starkville man was arrested on Friday for attempting to traffic nearly 25 pounds of marijuana.
Starkville Police Department arrested 38-year-old Bennard Belk on suspicion of drug trafficking after recovering about 25 pounds of marijuana. The drugs had an estimated street value of more than $100,000, according to a department press release.
The U.S. Postal Service assisted in the case, according to SPD.
Belk made an initial appearance in municipal court on Friday, where his bond was set at $25,000.
He was out of the Oktibbeha County Jail on bond by Saturday afternoon, according to jail personnel.
