The Golden Triangle''s second motorcycle fatality in just over a week happened Friday on Highway 50 in Clay County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol has not released details about the accident, except that Delay was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle where he was pronounced dead by Clay County Coroner Alvin Carter. Three children, ages nine, 10 and 13, were riding in the Avalanche but no additional injuries were reported. The accident remains under investigation by the MHP.
On July 1, John Andrew Hall, 38, of 3174 Highway 45 North in Columbus, was killed after his motorcycle collided with an alleged drunk driver at the intersection of Highway 45 and 31st Avenue.

Hall''s motorcycle struck Lopez''s 2004 Dodge Stratus, causing Hall major head and chest trauma which resulted in his death.
Lopez was administered a Breathalyzer test at the scene of the accident and registered over the legal limit of .08. He remains in custody at the Lowndes County Detention Center on a $1 million bond for vehicular manslaughter. He is also charged with driving with no license and no insurance.
A court date has been set for Aug. 5 for the manslaughter charge. Lopez does not have a lawyer and is awaiting a court appointed attorney.
