The 14th Flying Training Wing will hold a large base-wide exercise on Thursday, June 17. The exercise will test the wings ability to respond to an hostile event on the installation.
Most of Columbus Air Force Base will be affected by the exercise which will include closing of all gates to inbound and outbound traffic for periods of time during the exercise.
Consequently, most services on CAFB may be delayed or suspended as part of the exercise.
Base and community members should expect delays during the hours between 9 a.m. and noon on Thursday.
Base officials urge those accessing the base for routine reasons to choose another day.
Please be patient during the exercise and obey all directives given from installation authorities.
In addition to the exercise, the south gate will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to construction.
