Celebrity makeup artist and Aberdeen native Billy Brasfield has been busy making over another of Aberdeen''s older homes, this time for an HGTV show to air in January 2011. After weeks of intense work, structurally and design-wise, the home at 208 High St. in Aberdeen will be completely staged and featured in an open house for the public Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.

"The program is called ''Hometown Renovations,''" said co-executive producer Dawn Stroupe of Los Angeles. "The ongoing series will focus on Billy making over (houses) in his hometown of Aberdeen. This will be our third home."

The current house benefiting from Brasfield''s attention was built in 1904. It had been "mostly empty" for about 10 years before being selected for transformation. Final filming will take place on the day of the open house.

Three Columbus merchants -- Bella Interiors, Lighting Plus and The Granite Guys -- played a substantial role in turning the cozy house into a desirable dwelling. All were selected to assist in the makeover.

Brasfield has worked with Lady Gaga, Beyonce Knowles, Mariah Carey, Sharon Stone, the Dixie Chicks, Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler and many more celebrities. His friendship with Wynonna Judd was key in drawing the country artist to Aberdeen for a "Save Aberdeen Landmarks" fundraiser July 13.

"What Billy is accomplishing in his hometown is something that we should all aspire to be doing," said Stroupe.

The general public is encouraged to attend the open house.
