There’s a new home-cooked country restaurant open in Columbus.
Joyce’s Kountry Kitchen, 301 Tuscaloosa Road, had its grand opening today at 5:30 a.m. in the old Cattelemen’s Restaurant location.
Owner Joyce Alexander, who has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, is offering customers classic breakfast and lunch every day.
Customers can find country-style breakfast and a lunch buffet Sunday through Friday from 5:30 a.m.-2 p.m. On Saturdays, you can come in for a breakfast buffet with biscuits, hickory-smoked meats, lemon-pepper chicken and more from 5:30-11 a.m.
Also in Columbus, Monograms Plus, 1807 Highway 45 N., is preparing for its moving sale. Owner Paula Gable started her monogramming business more than 20 years ago in her home. Gable expanded her business to brick-and-mortar, but has now poised “moving sale” signs in her store’s windows. Now, Monograms Plus is moving strictly online.
“We’re excited about this transition and this new phase in the journey,” Gable said. “We hope these last few weeks will be enjoyable for our staff and our customers as the holidays are approaching, and everyone is in the mood for shopping and finding the perfect gift.”
From now until a few days before Christmas, Gable said she is running various discounts and specials on everything in-store, even fixtures and furniture. Monogramming Plus is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Over in West Point, if you’re looking for employment, a new staffing company opened last month.
Onin Staffing, 6683 Highway 45 Alt. S., is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The company is based in Birmingham, Alabama with more than 100 branches nationwide, primarily in the Southeast.
