No injuries were reported following a Sunday night shooting at Brookville Gardens Apartments.
Starkville police were dispatched to a disturbance at Brookville Gardens Sunday at about 9:50 p.m. Upon arrival, police discovered at least five shots had been fired into a residence, Starkville Police Department Sgt. Chadd Garnett said.
“Through the evidence we found, it was confirmed there was a shooting into a dwelling,” Garnett said.
The residence was occupied, but nobody was hit, Garnett said. Police believe they know the identity of the shooter, but no arrests have been made, he said. Investigators are still interviewing witnesses.
Because the incident is still under investigation, and because several witnesses have given conflicting statements, police are not releasing additional information at this time, Garnett said.
Anyone with information on the shooting can contact Garnett at 662-323-4131.
