PTO to bring parenting expert Rosemond to Columbus

Immanuel Center for Christian Education''s Parent Teacher Organization will present nationally-syndicated columnist, best-selling author and recognized parenting expert John Rosemond for a day of parenting seminars Tuesday, Sept. 14. 


Rosemond is syndicated in approximately 225 newspapers and has written 13 best-selling books, including "A Family of Value," "Because I Said So!" "Ending the Homework Hassle," "Making the Terrible Two''s Terrific!" and "Teen Proofing." 


The author and speaker will give three talks Sept. 14.



"John Rosemond is admired for his traditional parenting approach and is a huge proponent of instilling discipline in the classrooms so teachers can teach," she said. 


Rosemond has worked with families, children and parents since 1971 in the field of family psychology. He holds his masters in psychology from Western Illinois University and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He worked as a psychologist in Illinois and North Carolina and directed several mental health programs for children. From 1980-1990, Rosemond was in full-time practice as a family psychologist in Gastonia, N.C.

Tickets are $10 per person/per talk, available from the event sponsors: Immanuel Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church, all in Columbus. Parents, grandparents, parents-to-be, child-care providers and teachers are encouraged to attend.
