A 14-year-old boy was locked in jail for the third time this year Saturday, when he was charged with a burglary in Columbus and four in Lowndes County.
Dontae Moody, of 677 Yorkville Road, Apt. G1, was arrested by Lowndes County sheriff''s deputies in the Yorkville Apartments at 4:10 p.m. Saturday after Columbus police received a Crime Stoppers tip.
Moody was helping someone move at the time of the arrest, said police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
The defendant is being held in Lowndes County jail on a $40,000 bond for all five offenses, she said.
Moody, who has already compiled a rap sheet with police, was last arrested in August, when he and another person allegedly held up the Hardin Superette on 14th Avenue North, taking cash and cigarettes.
Before that, Moody, then 13, was arrested for armed robbery May 30 after he and 14-year-old Anfrenee Shemar Rice, of 504 Cypress St., held up the Military Quick Stop at 702 Military Road.
