BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for parts of north Alabama, with up to four inches of snow forecast for some areas.
The weather service says the winter storm watch is in effect through Wednesday morning. It says cities like Fort Payne, Guntersville and Scottsboro could see two to four inches of accumulation. Florence and Huntsville are forecast for one to three inches. Hamilton, Jasper and Gadsden could see one to two inches, and Birmingham could see an inch.
The weather service says the snow will develop from rain that began falling across parts of Alabama on Tuesday.
