Zac Hallaway shot a low round of 68 Saturday to take the lead in the championship flight at the annual Atwell Atkins golf tournament at Green Oaks Golf Course.
Atwell”s round puts him two shots ahead of Joey Persechino and four shots ahead of Billy Conn. Jacob Gable, Brad Arinder, and Marty Hawkins are tied at 73, while Dennis Cox and David Bartimus shots 74s.
In the first flight, Zac Taylor”s 75 Saturday was one shot better than Arl Taylor, Mike Purvis, Terry Fitch, and Mike Spalding. Greg Bryant, Rickey Lee, Clay Stafford, Thad Holcomb, and Terrell Hattaway all carded 77s.
In the second flight, Carl Lisowski, Matt King, and Mike Covington shot 78s to share the lead, one shot ahead of Zachary Bailey, Austin Fitch, D. Studdard, and Woody Byars. Andrew Hicks, Wayne Box, Jeff Wilson, and James Gable carded 80s.
In the third flight, Andy Hicks, Konrad Vernon, and Doug Murrah shared the lead with rounds of 81. Grady Jaynes (83) was next followed by Mike Hand and Dewey Pedigo with 84s.
Randy Bailey and Ricky Williams shot 85, Josh King finished with 86, Tate Marsh shot a 90, and Hunter Pittman carded a 94.
The tournament continues today, with tee times running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
