STARKVILLE — Fans will have several opportunities to get a look at the 2011 Mississippi State football team prior to the season opener, coach Dan Mullen announced Friday.
The Bulldogs will conduct open practices Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The annual Fan Day Celebration will be Aug. 27 in the Palmeiro Center.
“We”re ready to get started and get this season under way,” Mullen said. “Our players get a lot out of having our fans around the program and knowing how important the things we do are to the people of Mississippi.”
Practice Thursday will begin at 6 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, the Bulldogs will work in split practices. Friday”s schedule includes one group beginning at 9 a.m. and another at 7 p.m., while Saturday”s practices will begin at 8:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Fan Day, a yearly meet-the-team celebration, will feature players and coaches signing autographs as well as photo opportunities with Bully and several other fun features. Doors will open at noon, and players and coaches will be in attendance from 1-3 p.m.
Earlier in the day, student ticket sales will begin at the Davis Wade Stadium ticket office.
MSU will open the season at 7 p.m. Sept. 1 at the University of Memphis at Liberty Bowl Stadium.
