CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — Jay Burchfield, of Columbus, drove the Burchfield’s Body Shop Special to his first victory of the season Saturday night at the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series event at Columbus Speedway in Columbus.
Mickey Trosclair, of Luling, La., remains the points leader after a busy week 12 of the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series. There were several position changes in the top 10 in the point standings after 11 races.
Trosclair kept his weekly winning streak alive with a 40-point victory Saturday night at Pike County Speedway in McComb. Trosclair is the only driver out of the 363 drivers who have competed in the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season who has recorded a win in each of the first 12 weeks of competition.
On Friday, Trosclair turned in a 49-point second-place finish at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, and received an additional 25 bonus points for his fourth consecutive week of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition. Trosclair has now reached his quota of 100 bonus points.
Trosclair holds a 41-point lead against Brent Barrett, of Cleveland, who finished second on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville. Trosclair has 657 points and Barrett has 616 points.
Shannon Lee, of Lumberton, is third with 605 points after a third-place finish Friday at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park. Bobby Jordan, of McCarley, had a fifth-place finish Saturday night at Greenville Speedway. He is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 591 points.
Chase Washington, of Houlka, grabbed his seventh NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win of the season Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park. He has 583 points and is fifth.
In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 12 action, Duke Palasini, of Leland, drove the Palasini Farms Special to his fifth win of the season on Saturday at Greenville Speedway. Palasini is 13th in the point standings.
Tody Ratcliff, of Meridian, earned his first career NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian.

411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN will open Week 13 competition of the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season on Tuesday night with the $1,000-to-win Tennessee RV Tuesday Night Tango. Gates open at 5 p.m. with the Drivers Meeting at 6:45 p.m.
